Solar energy: Hope for future

Solar energy is the best source of renewable energy. It is readily available at all places in the Earth’s surface. Solar energy is available at no cost at all. Solar energy is the hope for the future of this world, which is facing the danger of pollution and global warming. Solar energy is considered the non-polluting source of energy.

In the world, there are countries which derive around 20% of their supply of energy from the solar energy. Rest of it, they fulfill from the sources such as petrol, gas and coal, which are non-renewable sources of energy. However, there are countries which derive only 6—8% of their total requirement of energy from the solar energy. To cut the cost of import of costly fuel, petrol and diesel, these countries need to increase their dependence on the solar energy, and reduce their dependence on the non-renewable sources of energy.

According to the global estimates, by 2015, about 40% of the total energy should be derived from the solar energy. For this, the process of the conversion of the solar energy into chemical energy and subsequently, mechanical energy, calls for improvement. Also, it should be made available for masses, i.e. it should be made cast-effective. The scientists are working on this and it is hoped that very soon they will come up with a breakthrough. The day this will be achieved, the world will come out of the problem of energy crisis.
